The Qin family servant informed Qin Mei that Mr. Hou, who had come during the day, had arrived.

Hou Yunjiao had come to pick up Qin Ruan.

Upon hearing this, Qin Mei became furious "What does he want? He doesn't even consider himself an outsider!"

Qin Ruan's lips curled up slightly when she heard that Hou Yunjiao had arrived.

Despite Qin Mei's anger, Qin Ruan remained calm and reassured him: "Second Brother, Third Young Master  Hou is the father of my child, and we have already obtained a marriage certificate. I am now a member of the Hou family."

"Why should you be?" Qin Mei retorted arrogantly: "Neither I nor our father agreed to this marriage, so it doesn't count!"

Although he didn't show it, Qin Mei was aware that his younger sister was carrying Hou Yunjiao's child. Regardless of how they started their relationship, they were now bound together by their marriage certificate.

However, he was still unwilling to accept it.

Just as Qin Ruan saw Hou Yunjiao enter with his men, she stood up and patted Qin Mei's shoulder.

"I have to go now. You can stay at home."

"Can't you stay?" Qin Mei gritted his teeth.

"I can't. I have something to do at the Hou family's house."

"I don't want you to go."

"Second Brother, I'm not abandoning you. It's not like I'm going to the Hou family's house to become their servant and never come back," Qin Ruan said, puzzled by Qin Mei's attitude.

"When will you come back?" Qin Mei sneered.

"I have to attend classes tomorrow, but I'll come back when I have time."

"Do you really have to go?"

Qin Mei pulled her arm and asked again.

"I promised, and a person should keep their word," Qin Ruan replied, still thinking about the anger that was swallowed up by Hou Yunjiao. Tonight, she would definitely take care of him.

"What about our father and eldest brother? How do I explain this to them?" Qin Mei had been very confident during the day, promising to take care of Hou Yunjiao.

Qin Ruan's departure meant that he would have to face the condemnation of his father and brother.

"I'll send them a message later," Qin Ruan said in a hurry as she saw Third Young Master approaching. "It's not safe lately, so try to stay indoors as much as possible."

She finished speaking and walked towards Hou Yunjiao.

Third Young Master held her small hand and asked indulgently, "Have you eaten?"

"I'm not hungry. I had soup in the afternoon, followed by tomato braised beef and quite a lot of fruit," she replied. Hou Yunjiao had a different feeling in his heart as he listened to her talk about what she had eaten this afternoon, as though it was a kind of enjoyment.

He smiled softly and said, "Let's go home first. When you're hungry, someone will make something for you."

Watching them from a short distance away, Qin Mei was filled with rage.

He was a living person, yet he was completely ignored.

Hou Yunjiao held Qin Ruan's hand and looked up, smiling at Qin Mei. "If you're worried, why don't you come to the Hou family as a guest?"

"I'm not going!" Qin Mei's face was full of disdain.

He wouldn't go looking for trouble.

Hou Yunjiao's eyebrows slightly lifted. "There are many little toys in the armory of the Hou family. You can practice and accompany Ruan Ruan. There are also many rooms in the house."

Qin Mei seemed to be tempted, but he didn't agree immediately.

He suspected that his brother-in-law was trying to bribe him with weapons.
