Chapter 190: Qin Ruan is Third Young Master's Darling
A murder case had surfaced and it turned out to be related to Qin Ruan.
She was currently carrying the fourth generation of the Hou family's grandson in her belly, the legitimate grandchild that the old master had been anticipating for years. Who would dare to touch her?
It wasn't because Hou Yirong had a big face; even if the president came, he wouldn't be able to take her away.
It wasn't that the Hou family was bullying anyone. Last night's murder case had nothing to do with Qin Ruan as she had been with Hou Yunjiao the entire time.
Lu Han frowned as he took out his phone and checked the message sent by the bureau's subordinates. They had discovered another male body early this morning, making it the fifth case this month.
The modus operandi was the same, all male victims and the incidents all occurred at night. The previous four cases had no progress until this time where they found something new on the victim's body.
A cheap round wall jade pendant, not belonging to the deceased.
They extracted fingerprints from it, and it belonged to Qin Ruan, the biological daughter of the Qin Group that they had recently found.
Despite rumors that Qin Ruan was an illegitimate child, Lu Han's background allowed him to have all the information in Qin Ruan's database right in front of him.
Qin Ruan, the lost daughter of the Qin family, with Qin blood flowing in her veins.
She had grown up in the impoverished West City, just like most of its residents. She smoked, drank, and had a wild temperament. Her looks were as beautiful as flowers, and she trained hard to protect herself.
Qin Ruan was well-known in West City for her fierce and ruthless nature, and before being taken back by the Qin family, she went by the name Qin Xiaowu.
What made things difficult was that Qin Ruan had recently received a lot of attention from the Hou family.
According to reliable sources, Hou Third Young Master, who rarely appeared in public, had been seen with this woman quite often.
Lu Han was still contemplating whether or not to summon Qin Ruan for questioning when Hou Yirong sent someone to invite him to a meeting.
Opportunities that come knocking should not be missed.
Lu Han took the initiative to meet with Second Master Hou to learn more about the situation before taking action.
He had predicted many possible outcomes, but never imagined that Qin Ruan had such a deep involvement with Third Young Master Hou.
Qin Ruan had now become the wife of the Hou family's heir, rising up the ranks in a single step.
If he hadn't met with Hou Yirong today, he would have sent someone to bring Qin Ruan in for questioning, which would have clearly sparked a confrontation with the Hou family.
Upon learning of Qin Ruan's current status, Lu Han's expression remained grim.
"So, have you made any progress?" asked Second Young Master Hou, breaking the silence.
Lu Han nodded, his brows furrowed. "Based on the external wounds of the deceased, they are almost identical to the previous four cases. The victims were all killed by hand, with their hearts ripped out and missing from the scene."
Seeing that the man opposite him was unimpressed, Lu Han continued, "Both the shape of the wounds and the traces at the scene indicate that the killer is a woman."
Second Master Hou placed his teacup on the table and smiled as he looked at Lu Han.
"Do you still think that Qin Ruan is the culprit?"
However, his smile did not reach his eyes.
Lu Han fell silent.
He could only say that he still had doubts about Qin Ruan, since everyone involved with the victims was a suspect.
His default attitude elicited a wry smile from Hou Yirong.
"Master Lu, don't blame me for not reminding you. When my younger brother comes later, be more restrained. Qin Ruan is the apple of his eye now."
After all, as a public official, he had a responsibility and could not afford to show his bias.
"Thank you for the reminder, Second Master Hou."
Lu Han relaxed in his chair, both in posture and expression.
